Happy new year! Nothing major happened over here, we were just drinking coffee, reading books, watching films and waited for Christmas and the new year to happen.
I had a deep and meaningful post drafted about new year’s resolutions and all that but I forgot what else I wanted to say so you know what? fuck it! Not everything has to be deep and meaningful. The older I get, the more I realise that life is more enjoyable when you take things lightly and with a sense of humour.
This year I’m committed to doing more of the stuff that makes me happy and I’m hoping to get deeper into it: Study more art and photography, read more books, talk to more people, ask more questions, train harder, move more…
At a personal level, I’d like to be able to save a bit more, be more patient, laugh more and take life a lot less serious.
In a couple of weeks, we are going to a wedding and this morning I realised the last time I wore a shirt and tied a tie was at my own wedding, nearly 10 years ago!
Since then, I think I’ve been working on myself and on the relationship with the current wife.
Why am I telling you this? I don’t really know but instead of having whacky, nonsensical resolutions for this year, work on yourself and your own happiness. Not for someone you’re not.
Whatever your goals are this year, I wish you all the best!
